Fast & Furious 6 and Fast & Furious 7 Being Written Back-to-Back
|
|
The gang will reunite for Fast & Furious 6 and 7
Fast & Furious 6, which is currently in pre-production, is going to be split into two movies, reveals Vin Diesel. The star/producer has said that the creative team, which includes director Justin Lin and screenwriter Chris Morgan, have too much story to contain in one single film.
" With the success of this last one, and the inclusion of so many characters, and the broadening of scope, when we were sitting down to figure out what would fit into the real estate of number six, we didn't have enough space.
We have to pay off this story, we have to service all of these character relationships, and when we started mapping all that out it just went beyond 110 pages. The studio said, 'You can't fit all that story in one damn movie!'"
Both screenplays will be written back-to-back, and they may be filmed that way as well. It wasn't revealed if Fast & Furious 6 and Fast & Furious 7 will be a two-parter, or if they will be stand-alone movies. So far, the sequels have always ended with a to-be-continued plot line. The climax of Fast & Furious 6 may be a bit more detailed, with higher risks at stake. |

Star Trek 2 to be shot in 2D and possibly IMAX
Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol producer J.J. Abrams has been out and about, promoting that film. And while he continues to remain tight-lipped on his highly anticipated sequel Star Trek 2, the director did reveal that this next chapter will be shot in 2D and converted to 3D later, with some scenes possibly shooting in IMAX.
"We're shooting on film, 2-D, and then we'll do a good high-end conversion like the Harry Potter movie and all that. Luckily, with our release date now (May 17th, 2013) we have the months needed to do it right because if you rush it, it never looks good. We were talking about [shooting in IMAX] and I would love to do it. IMAX is my favorite format; I'm a huge fan."
The director wouldn't confirm if Kahn is going to be the villain, saying that it is too early to talk about the fine details just yet. He did call the script "amazing", and claims that it will all be on him if this film gets screwed up. The sets are done, and the film begins shooting next month. |
